Pheasant Wild Rice Soup

South Dakota's state bird is the Chinese ring-necked pheasant, one of the world's most hunted birds. Pheasants can be found throughout most of South Dakota, except for the Black Hills, and is known for its delicious meat. While being high in cholesterol, pheasant is low in sodium and saturated fat. Since it is primarily a Midwestern bird, pheasant is considered a delicacy in many other states.
