University of Florida in Bay County Extension – A Keeping the Pressure Down Program was to reduce risk of hypertension and reduce blood pressure among program participants.  Approximately sixteen individuals attended the four week sessions.  Each week two recipes were used from the cookbooks. Results of workshop:  100% know more about choosing healthful menu items when eating out; know more about changing recipes to make them more heart healthy; 100% stated they would make changes. All participates received the Cookbook! Because the Health Department wants more classes, Marjorie Moore is offering more classes this fall.

Southwest Kansas Extension – Presented Travel America with Appetizers educational program.  All the recipes were from the Living Well—More than a Cookbook.  The menu included foods and signature recipes from across the United States along with a little history and geography. Participants were given the cookbooks and many ideas for holiday entertaining as well as feeding their families.

Utah Extension in Wayne County – They used the Living Well Books with their Living Well with Chronic Conditions workshop. The books are only going to be given to the participants who complete the program.  Cookbooks are a great motivational tool.

Texas AgriLife Extension in Fort Bend County - The Living Well books were given as incentive items to participants at our Dinner Tonight Cooking School.  The Dinner Tonight Healthy Cooking School utilizes recipes that are cost effective, easy to prepare and fit into a healthy meal plan.  We are targeting busy people who still want to make time for meal preparation and feel good about what they are feeding themselves and their family.  Our goals are to promote family mealtime, teach families healthy meal planning and food preparation techniques.
