NEAFCS Utah Small Business Marketplace

Perhaps you have heard of the ice cream bar Creamies, or Fat Boys Ice Cream Sandwiches, or the frozen bread dough by Rhodes Dough, or what about Norbest Turkey?  Utah has so many amazing products and artisans.  We are sorry you missed out on some of them this year, in person, at our NEAFCS Utah Small Business Market Place, but here are just a few that will showcase a bit of Utah talent.

Flap Jack Drizzle  https://flapjackdrizzle.net

Flap Jack Drizzle was born in a little breakfast café called the Flap Jack Shack. It was the house syrup. People came from far and wide to eat pancakes with this yummy syrup. Soon people began asking to buy the syrup by the bottle to take home and send to friends. Thus, the Flap Jack Syrup company was born!

(Teresa Hunsaker Tri-liaison testimonial:  I have used this syrup for almost three years now…oh, my goodness.   It is soooooo yummy!  Try it on ice cream, but even better on caramel pecan bread pudding!)

Beehive Cheese  www.beehivecheese.com

When you take a bite of Beehive Cheese, it melts like butter in your mouth. That’s because Beehive Cheese is made from the creamiest milk in Utah and lovingly crafted into superior cheese by a family who shares a passion for the artisan way of life.

In 2005, brothers-in-law Tim Welsh and Pat Ford left the fast-paced world of software and real estate seeking a simple way of life as cheese makers. They traded their grinding commute and laptops for quiet pre-dawn mornings sitting with 500 gallons of farm-fresh milk carefully mixing and warming it for hours to develop their unique cheese.

(Teresa Hunsaker Tri-liaison testimonial:  I know it sounds like I am a bit of a foodie, and I guess in our profession you can’t help but be, so here’s another one of my favorite Utah products…no offense Wisconsin cheese folks, but this is some pretty darn good cheese.)

Kodiak Cakes  (As seen on Shark Tank)  https://kodiakcakes.com

Kodiak Cakes began in 1982 when Penny Clark sent her 8-year-old son into the neighborhood with a red wagon full of paper bags that were filled with her father’s heirloom flapjack mix and simple instructions written on the bags. He returned with an empty wagon and lifelong plans.

(Teresa Hunsaker Tri-liaison testimonial:  Here’s another one I can attest to…and perhaps you can too.  They now have contracts with many of our grocers across the country, and even Costco.  Use the Flap Jack Drizzle with this pancake mix!)

Super Bloom Coffee   https://www.superbloomcoffee.com

Steve Johnson Art Work  http://stevejohnsonarts.com

Steve Johnson still views life from the back of a horse, and paints in a converted chicken coop behind his 90-year-old house. His studio, however, carries no fowl smell, but rather the trappings of an authentic artist who needs to work amidst the action of the Old West he knows and values. While Utah is rapidly changing, in Johnson’s mind, however, the growth is one more opportunity for him to share his lifestyle with a world hungry for some of those simple country moments.  Steve is a long time Extension supporter, former 4-Her (Teen Council leader), and scholarship donor.  If you want a taste of Western art, Steve is your artist.  His detail is amazing!  His work can be found in many galleries in the Southwestern States.

(Teresa Hunsaker Tri-liaison testimonial:  I am the very lucky owner of a few of Steve’s pieces of art.  But besides that, I was fortunate enough to be the 4-H agent when Steve was on our 4-H Teen Council.)

Goldie Lew Jewelry  https://goldielew.com

My name is Jazlyn and my jewelry company is called Goldie Lew, named after my two little twin girls. I have always been passionate about jewelry and I feel so blessed to own this business. My hubby Shad and I are the proud parents of 5 amazing children - 3 boys and twin 2-year-old girls. I started this business as a hobby when I was expecting the two girls. I thought it would be fun to make jewelry for them and pass my love of it on to them, and then found that everyone else loved my jewelry too! It has now evolved into such a fun business and we offer one of a kind necklaces and bracelets made by me, along with other beautiful pieces made by native Americans in our state. Whether it be a vintage charm necklace or a stunning turquoise ring, we are sure to have something that you will love!

Virginia Catherall  http://www.lakesaltknit.com

I am a textile artist and knitwear designer of wearable landscapes. I live and work in Salt Lake City, Utah. I am inspired by the incredible, rugged and sublime landscape around Utah, Great Salt Lake, and the Great Basin. I design a line of knitted items inspired by the history, landscape, and art of the area. Through this process I am finding meaning in landscape, a type of knitting *terroir*, that brings my home, my place, into the forefront of my life. And because of that, I have come to hone my thinking about environmentalism, conservation, and preservation of land.

Southern Utah Wood Turners Assoc.  http://www.southernutahwoodturners.com

The Southern Utah Woodturners Chapter was formed eight plus years ago with a membership of 25 mostly senior wood turners, which meant many years of experience amongst them. Their goal is to seek and mentor younger woodturners, so turned to the local High School. In partnership with the Cedar City High School District and the Cedar High School woodshop, they contributed a $1,000 grant from AAW for purchasing some needed equipment and turning tools at the school.

If you are interested in purchasing their wood products you may want to contact:
